Eighteen years

18 years. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the number of years I have been practicing law. In three states, including the highly litigious state of TX. In areas of law (plaintiffs’ PI, family law, pd work) that scream out “Grieve me! Grieve me!” Number of times before today I have had a client complain about me to the state bar? ZERO. So today, I get my first ever client complaint letter from the bar. I don’t even have to respond, but I feel a tiny bit sad that my streak has ended. Just because my (mentally ill) client has been through about four other lawyers, and complained about them as well did not stop me from thinking I could manage the situation. Alas. It is very sad.
